Orthopaedic Manual Therapy
Orthopedic manipulative treatment (OMT) is a specialized part of Physiotherapy with emphasis on the treatment of neuromuscular and skeletal problems through a comprehensive model of evaluation and clinical reasoning. The Kaltenborn - Evjenth method (since 1954) is one of the most important methods in the field of manual therapy. The purpose of the method is the rehabilitation of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system through intra-articular and soft tissue mobilization techniques. It is perhaps the only orthopedic treatment school that gives maximum importance to the stabilization of hyperactive joints or parts of the musculoskeletal system.
Finally, it is a comprehensive approach that aims not only at dealing with the complaint leading the patient to seek physiotherapy but at a comprehensive rehabilitation plan accompanied by specialized therapeutic exercise protocols.
